More FNO

On Spetember 10th, ( I think we all know what day that is by now...) head over to 302 Bowery & E. Houston street to Patricia Field's store. First of all it's amazing, second of all she'll have trunk shows, street goods, music & more. Patricia herself is sure to be there. (Patricia Field facebook page)

OMFG.

That lavender sliver of genius is Anna.
Obviously 'twas the best day of my life.
For those who didn't get to go to the PSA shooting, I'm sure Anna and many more whom we are obsessed with will make an appearence at the actual Fashion's Night Out on September 10th so all hope is not lost.

Public Service Announcement for Fashion's Night Out

I obvisouly had to go to the Public Service Announcement commercial shoot when I found out about it, so here are 2 pictures of the set. It was crazy, there was about 200 people there & we filmed it in about 2 hours. They put us all in the Fashion's Night Out t-shirts, lined us up on 39th street and we had to scream "SHOP FOR GOOD!" into the camera. No one knew Anna would be there so when people started grabbing out their cameras I was like "ok who is here, someone good is here". I walk over to the left and I see her. She looked amazing, I was shaking, she waved to us all. Vera Wang also made an appearance, she is in the PSA with everyone and I got a picture of her but it got fucking deleted. Anyway, I'll stop talking now and post Anna. (I will put up the commercial asap.)

Gucci Good

Ok, these are the real shots for the Fall 2009 Gucci campaign. The other ones of Anja Rubik with the black bag were for the pre-fall collection. These were shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. In the top shot we have; Anja Rubik, Raquel Zimmermann, Myf Shepherd, and below; Natasha Poly. I have to say, I didn't love the Fall 2009 from Frida Giannini, I felt the clothes looked cheap and frankly I was ready to heave after more 80's reference. I mean, Marc Jacobs' show was more than enough. But in these ads the clothes actually look great, clean, modern, not such a literal take on the 80's. I also need Natasha Poly's hair cut.

Him&Her

Or should I say "Her&Her". This is the fall 2009 campaign for Jean Paul Gaultier starring Raquel Zimmermann & Raquel Zimmermann. She transforms quite nicely into male, but I do prefer her in the Fendi campaigns. What do you think? (fashionologie)

Karl who?

Had to post this before bed. How great is this? It's so ironic & innocent. Now I can sleep well tonight.

I love, Hussein Chalayan

Known for his intricate futuristic technological designs, Hussein Chalayan thinks designing, should be left to designers, and modeling should be left to models. I can't agree more. "If you have a really strong sense of style and people want to aspire to being like you, I can understand that, but if you really are doing it (designing) just because you think of yourself as a brand and you haven't had the training and you know nothing about clothes, it kind of demeans all the training that designers have had." He says. I'm sure he feels the same way if not stronger, about celebrity "clothing lines" like I do. Let me stop here before I get nasty. (nymag)

Wintour's Words of Wisdom, Karl Contradicts

Teen Vogue is coming out with a book about breaking into the fashion industry, and in it includes these words from Anna: "Do your homework, go online, visit every museum, and intern. You just need to have a love for what you're doing. It's not about thinking that it's the cool thing; it's about really believing in it." She adds: "Don't go too fast. Because of reality television, everyone imagines they can just be a fashion designer, photographer, or model. That's not the way things go. Learn your craft."
Karl Lagerfeld dosen't seem to be as encouraging;
"Ask yourself, Are you sure this world is for you? And are you sure you are the right person to survive in this world - the world of fashion, a world with no rules, no laws?"
Then again, Karl's words might be more food for thought than Anna's.
The Teen Vogue Handbook: An Insider's Guide to Careers in Fashion should be released on October 5th.

Fashion's Night Out

Clear out your fucking calendar on the night of September 10th. Fashion's Night Out is sponsored by Vogue joined with the CFDA and NYC & Company. In an effort to keep people shopping during "these economic times", over 300 stores in New York City and all 5 boroughs will stay open until 11pm. This is going to be absolutley insane. Designer Alexander Wang (love you!) will be giving runway lessons at Barneys and signing t-shirts at Bergdorf Goodman, Macy's will be having a special event, The 2010 calendar of New York firefighters (Jenn!) will be sold at Lord & Taylor. Macy's, Barneys, Madewell, Lord& Taylor, Bloomingdales, The Body Shop, Missoni, Cole Haan, Kirna Zabete, Uniqlo, Vera Wang, Intermix, Topshop and many more will carry the official Fashion's Night Out t-shirt you see above for $30. This is going to be a celebration of fashion for sure, model and celebrity appearences will be made (let's all pray to God we see Anna there). There is no fee to "get in" to Fashion's Night Out as this night is for the consumer. Fashion's Night Out is held on the first day of Fashion Week, September 10th starting at 6:00pm. Gisele is pregnant!

There it is. The "bump", baby bump that is. 29 year old Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen is pregnant with New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady's child. She is due early next year and no word on whether it's a girl or boy but either way, that child is getting some niceee DNA.
Don't we all wanna look that good when we get pregs...

Anna Wintour in....flats

Holyshit. Anna wore flats to the 2009 Hampton Designer Showcase. Not only flats, but ugly ones. I don't understand this. They look like cheap hotel slippers or those paper sandals you wear out of the nail salon after a pedicure. The rest of her outfit is amazing though so we'll just blame the economy and move on. Give em' the Boot

Who dosen't wear boots for fall?... Especially this season when the selection is insane.
Going down vertically first column: Givenchy, Nina Ricci, Stella McCartney.
Going down vertically second column: Givenchy, Chloe, Prada. I couldn't even breathe when I saw the pink Nina Ricci, I would risk breaking every bone in my body just to try those on. (We'll miss you Olivier!) All these boots are from the fall 2009 collections, except the top left Givenchy are from the Fall2009 Haute Couture. (photo credit to style.com & elle.com)

Model turned actress, Lily Cole

Known for her doll like features, 21 year old model Lily Cole has turned to acting. She will play "Valentina" in the upcoming mystery film "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus" to be released later this year, and she will also play "Lettuce Leaf" in the fashion drama "Rage".
Hopefully this "model turned actress" dosen't become model, turned actress, turned perfume designer, turned..well you all know how it goes...

Russian Dolls for Fall

Alot of the models must have felt right at home on the runways because there is a huge Russian trend coming in for fall. Alot of embroidery, ruffles, furs, suedes, embellishment, jewel tones. The clothes aren't very close fitting to the body or tight, so alot of the things for fall you see on the runways can work on alot of different body types. Going clockwise we have Lara Stone detail shot from Prada, shoe detail from Prada, a look from Dolce & Gabbana, and a look from Chanel pre-fall.

New Marc Jacobs Fall 2009 campaign

This is one page of the new Marc Jacobs Fall 2009 campaign shot by Juergen Teller. It kind of screams 80's teens getting ready or coming back from an all night house party with Blondie and Madonna making their brains vibrate. That's probably what Marc was going for but I don't think it does the clothes justice, I mean you can barley see them. The collection had such strength and an 80's power bitch attitude, I just don't think these pics are cutting it. Whatever, Marc we still love you.

Christy Turlington photographed by Patrick Demarchelier

Let's let the photograph do the talking. (photo credit to Patrick Demarchelier's facebook fan page)

Hedi Slimane photographs Sasha Pivovarova

These shots are amazing. The light is perfection. Some people are so tired of the cigarettes in fashion photographs but I think it makes the picture, there would be a void in the shot if it didn't have a cigarette.

I want to eat Patricia Field's store

Ok so if you havent been to Patricia Field's store yet, get your ass over there. It's incredible. I can't even speak right now. 302 Bowery and E. Houston in New York City. Everyone from Beyonce to Katy Perry has shopped there. They have things at all price points so your sure to come out with something. For those who don't know who Patricia Field is...you shouldn't be reading this blog, but I'll explain anyway. She is a fashion icon, genius, she is the costume designer/ stylist for a number of films including The Devil Wears Prada and Sex and The City. Go to www.patriciafield.com to see all the merchandise.

The Rachel Zoe Project Season 2

"I die!" More starbucks runs, impromptu shopping sprees, furs, big sunglasses, zoe-isms, photoshoots, designers, fashion week shows, Brad crying, & Taylor bitching.
Personally, I love Rachel and her team, and can't wait for season 2. Taylor and Brad will be returning to the show as well as Rodger. It premieres on August 25th on Bravo. To catch up on season one, go to bravotv.com.
You can also connect with Rachel on her twitter (www.twitter.com/rzrachelzoe) or facebook.
It's going to be "bananas".

Mad for Matte

For fall were doing matte nails. They're new, fresh, cool, & modern. Here shown is O.PI.'s matte collection, they have great colors, the blue is shown on the model, about $8 a bottle. Also Essie makes a great matte finisher that you can put over any Essie nail polish, to give it a matte look. That goes for $10, it's a great investment.
Check your local nail salons or go to www.opi.com and click Where to Buy, and www.essie.com and click Shop Now.

Louis Vuitton Fall 2009 Details

Louis Vuitton fall 2009 accessories are excuse my french, fucking amazing. They're very creative & rich looking, very parisian luxury boudoir. The colors, the hardware, the architecture of the heels is insane but still wearable. Picture these on the Pont Alexandre III in Paris. Excuse me while I pass out. (picture credit goes to style.com)

Hermione for Burberry

Yes, Emma Watson for Burberry. She looks fierce, classy, and she owns those boys. Usually I hate celebs for ad campaigns but Emma is an exception. She's not a media whore, dosen't want a clothing line, and the idea of a perfume named after makes her want to throw up. This is what we like to hear.
